In today's WTF moment, Lindsey Graham makes the best case yet for a full independent investigation.

IMHO

Listening to LG do his intro at a town hall today he said (and I paraphrase)...

This morning the President sent out a few tweets and I'll summarize...he's saying the former president bugged his campaign. Now, if that's true there are one of two possibilities. First - the former president illegally bugged the current president's campaign. Two - the former president legally bugged the current president's campaign. Either choice makes me very very worried and we need to get to the bottom of this.

Put aside for a moment that presidents don't make the decisions around intelligence gathering, his point defines the box trump has created for republicans in power and it creates the logic trap demanding an independent commission.

If the previous democratic administration did it illegally, then democrats can't be objective. If the previous democratic administration did it legally, then the republicans can't be objective. Assume for a moment we don't know which of these options is true (and believe me, I know...lol), either way, the only solution is independent commission.

1. He left out a third possibility:

the current president is a paranoid schizophrenic;

and a fourth: the current president is consciously lying in advance of damaging info obtained in other ways;

and fifth possibility: the intel community obtained a FISA warrant without any involvement from the previous President;

And your 5th point is the technicality of his second point - obtained legally. Im sure, if there was a valid FISA warrant, BHO is going to learn about it the same time you and I do.

Your 4th point - yeah, that strategic advance tweet thing. I agree but just imagine, what's worse than admitting you're under a FISA warrant (which, if I'm not mistaken, is illegal in of itself...isn't a FISA warrant like Fight Club..."First rule of Fight Club is nobody talks about Fight Club&quot .

I think Chump and Bannon made this up and fed it to Breitbart just so Chump could quote it.

it means the requirements for a FISA warrant were satisfied and the IC obtained it.

He's scared that his misdeeds are about to be exposed.

My only point here was that LG just made the case for a full blown public investigation. Raising the idea that BHO might have done something illegal (which we know is bullchit) raises the stakes on the Republicans wanting to see an investigation.

The rethugs would be all over this. Historically they will do anything to discredit BHO. Hopefully they sign on and it blows up in their face..
