From Alamogordo, Truth or Consequences, Las Cruces, Socorro, Ruidoso/Lincoln County and Silver City, we came organized and ready with a list of questions for our Tea Party US Representative Steve Pearce...he held a Town Hall in Ruidoso, where he had very strong support. We all held up our hands for every single question while his supporters raised their hands few & far between....so we got called on 80% of the time with our questions. I am so proud of our groups.
We were interviewed by KOB tv and it will be on air tonight, but by then I'll be without internet reception.
Our questions included many about the theft (or what he calls the transfer) of national forests, monuments...huge topic around here; reproductive justice (from our Indivisibles leader (wife of a USAF pilot); gay & trans rights (from my fearless campaign manager & a gay military wife, herself); ACA, Medicare & Medicaid; Social Security; military spending; THE wall & undocumented immigrant families living in fear (justified); Russian ties; lack of transparency of ACA repeal & replace bill; demand for release of income tax info; unfunding of Planned Parenthoods; desire for support of solar industry instead of oil & natural gas being able to allow methane to escape...I'm pretty sure I missed a few, but I think y'all get the gist.
We Indivisibles are a growing group effort that will continue to exert influence on the national conversation...and direction we're headed. It is so exciting.
I ran for the office of State Rep here and got great DU love & support...I want to encourage and recruit DUers to run in 2018 (assuming we're not totally deconstructed and that we still have elections!)
As always, I am a strong presence at our Democratic Party and will run for a seat at our 'state Dem table'...no, we're not trying to compete with Dem party, but to compliment (sp?) it.
