I was wrong about Van Jones

I though he was a voice of reason and someone in the media who would be a truth teller. He really shit the bed with his "he became President tonight" BS after Trump's successful TelePromter reading last Monday. I can't watch him anymore. He has shown his true soul and has lost all credibility.

Jones has paid a high price for his mistake - Twitter is loaded with criticisms on his thread. He should simply apologize and move on. But he insists on clarifying his statement which makes his situation worse.

It amazes me that anyone would think Trump was reading something other than a prepared statement put together by a team of stooges. Trump is not even capable of making a coherent sentence on his own.

I really liked him before that. I sent a tweet to him after that. I was stunned by what he said. I mean seriously? I understand about giving people the benefit of the doubt but that doesn't apply here. Trump has been absolutely ridiculous and people were fawning over him for one speech? I was like no not happening.

How could anybody be so wrong when they should really know better? It's either baffling or his paycheck depended on it! Whichever one it was, it was a terrible career move among other things!

He tried to rationalize that he really meant something else… But at the time he said "Period", after his amazingly superficial insane political statement of epic reality TV type analysis! He should be embarrassed!

in love with pence when he was chosen as trump's VP. tweety went on and on about how pence was so presidential. pence looked presidential, sounded presidential ad nauseum. I think he was actually drooling, but then he does that a lot.

That was the end of tweety for me

Presidential, something the President is supposed to do, is something I don't understand. 99.9% of the time he doesn't "act the part." Sorry, Mr. Jones! No credit is due that man!!🤣 Mr. Jones, feeling a bit like this 🤡 guy?

.....valuable to the causes he cares about. So this is a real loss.

Did he forget what 45 had done and said just last week? The baiting of Muslims? The treatment of dreamers? The harm to the idea of America that 45's racism does? And that cabinet? And that White Supramicist advisor in the Oval Office?

Jones actually fell for that long clapping. Didn't see how deeply cynical and manipulative it was on 45's part.

Jones has lost all credibility. Any "rehabilitation" of 45, based on one reading of a tele-prompted speech, is unforgivable.

Maybe the same speechwriter. Having worked on many campaigns I don't do speeches. They are written by pros to have an effect and have nothing to do with reality. All they have to do is get up and read it. When I was a member of the press we often got the scripts ahead of time so I didn't have to sit for it. On the campaign trail we know all the speeches already.

I think it has been on before, it named The Messy truth with Van Jones. He acts like he just discovered the way Trump voters act. A lot of high income liberals just don't get it while most of us have to put up wit it at family occasions and unfriending them.

You can watch it, all he does is talk to unemployed in the Midwest.

Let's see how that roll out. To tell the honest truth, I have no sympathy for a trump supporter who gets deported or lose their medicare. They are fucked up and fuck them. They had an opportunity to vote for a person (Mrs. Clinton) who had their backs and would fight for them but instead they voted for the pussy grabber.
