Rubber & Glue - A Losing Game

”I’m rubber and you’re glue. Whatever you say bounces off me, and sticks to you.”

It’s a schoolyard taunt that we all grew up with, and was invariably recognized for what it was: the last defence of an immature bully who hoped-against-hope that it would end a discussion he clearly lacked the intellect to engage in.

While sometimes an effective response among eight-year-olds arguing about who’s a poopy-head with cooties, there is no denying that when a so-called pResident and his party engage in such childish tactics, our nation is in the hands of people who lack the intellectual capacity to have matured beyond the rubber-and-glue school of thought.

We are now witnessing a temper-tantrum of monumental proportions being played out on the national stage – and, even more embarrassingly, on the world stage. We have seen the rubber-and-glue defence used to explain an obvious uptick in anti-semitism (Jews are falsely reporting bomb-threats to synagogues and community centers while vandalizing their own cemeteries), an increase in anti-Muslim rhetoric (allegedly perpetrated by Muslims), and anti-immigrant sentiment that has been advanced by – you guessed it! – immigrants themselves.

Today’s events have moved us even further into the realm of rubber-and-glueness with the accusation that Barack Obama – personally, and with malice aforethought – has “bugged” the offices of the so-called president, with a view to undermining a blameless administration whose intimate relationship with our sworn enemy, the Russians, is a classic example of nothing to see here, so let’s just move along.

And where are the facts that prove Obama is a poopy-head with cooties? They emanate from the same place as the “fact” that millions of illegals voted last November came from – Trump’s ass. They originated from the same source that claims Obama is personally leading anti-Trump protests – from Trump’s ass. They come from the same unimpeachable (!?!) source that Trump has relied on every day of his life – his own ass.

It is bad enough that Trump promotes his own ass as an unquestionable source of “facts”. What is truly alarming is that the Republican party now embraces whatever bullshit spews from his rectum, while attributing the resultant stench to those who demand the truth of where the endless stream of political diarrhea stems from.

I’m rubber and you’re glue. Anything you say bounces off me, and sticks to you!

It worked in the schoolyard. It doesn’t work in a political world where facts are expected to come from somewhere other than the dank recesses of a proven liar’s colon.

While the GOP – the Latter Day Saints of Desperate Proctology – explore the rectum of their hero in search of a provable “fact”, the adults of the world are left to wonder when GOP children will grow up enough to stop playing “rubber-and-glue”, a game that has always been proven to be as pathetic as it is pointless.

Try four year olds. So are the deplorables. They want Obama to engage them at their level, but he won't.
