So they project onto Obama the same modus operandi even when it is not possible, especially since it fits the RWA alt-right world view.

You c an be so much more effective when you can stay calm. Imagine that their stupid outrages evaporate faster than a cup of water poured into desert sand.

(9,670 posts)This is simply red meat for the base, to distract them and to allow their propaganda arm to continue to deflect and spin the news in a way to complicate, obfuscate and ultimately normalize Trump's criminal behavior before and after the election.

(5,268 posts)Mitch McConnell threatened he would accuse Pres. Obama of political interference in election if Pres. Obama pushed to release more of the Trump/Russia investigation before election. Pres. Obama did not want any backlash of being accused of meddling for political reasons, thinking it could hurt Hillary rather than help.
But now that everything is blowing up in their faces with pressure for independent Trump investigation, they are pushing this garbage as last ditch attempt at distraction

(8,964 posts)He may be aware of it, but only on the basis of intelligence gathered while he was president. The fact that Obama chose not to go public with substantiated reports of Russian interference before the 2016 election demonstrates that he is extremely cautious in these matters, perhaps too cautious.

(51,445 posts)scum of the earth! Trying to turn the tables. Let's start with investigating the first crime: Russia hacking into the DNC and Hillary's emails. Then 'B', who got that information and how did they use it? 'C', who made the contacts and what was the exchange? 'D' who has lied under oath?

(5,810 posts)So he is going to do everything possible to undo and destroy his legacy. Anything he can do to sully our former president's name and track record will be fair game to this despicable man/child.i wish that his 'true believers" could drop the blinders so they can see this awful man for what he is. But alas, the same man who so gleefully works to destroy Obama will just as eagerly cultivate his followers with the same twisted and manipulative techniques. He is quite the master at his task and until someone steps in to say we've all had enough of this nonsense, he will continue his mind numbing rampage.

(48,955 posts)1) attempt to knock down the polling of Obama as far higher than 45s;
2) attempt to "strike back" (a Trump classic) with no understanding (he has had 24 hours to figure it out) what would be called into question - about himself/his campaign per FISA documents.
I predict that if it proceeds forward with an eager Congress who was so ready to go after Hilary that it will easily harness that energy to go after Obama, that info will leak from Congress to the WH to back out as info looks bad, or it will be dropped before it gets to that point.
I hope that it goes forward because this is a leaky admin and what gets leaked to the WH (from Congress) will get leaked to the press - and then some.
Of course this admin would pursue yet another self-inflicted wound.
I have seen the proverbial death by a thousand cuts. I have never before seen where so many of the cuts are self-inflicted.

(32,079 posts)Obviously, they haven't paid attention to the past eight years, and don't realize that they are fucking with the wrong person when they go after President Obama. He has been miles ahead of them all along, and they might as well just go ahead and slit their own throats now, rather than slowly doing it over the next few months. Seriously. Spare the country the remaining fallout of your fast-moving train wreck, and turn yourselves in now.
Well said.

(36,294 posts)They ask congress to investigate claims made by Trump and say they'll make no further comment about Sunkist Stalin's crazy antics until said Congressional investigation is completed.
" Neither the White House nor the President will comment further until such oversight is conducted."
The initial reports said that Trump's staff was caught by surprise by his tweets so I don't think this is a planned maneuver in an attempt to shift focus.

The Clinton investigators and those refusing and avoiding investigating Trump, early and vociferous supporters of Trump, those who may have been rewarded with cabinet positions for family members.
The first cousins, Sonny Perdue (former GA governor and new Cabinet member (Agriculture) and David Perdue (senator and former Family Dollar and Reebok executive) were Trump backers from the start.
Mitch McConnell, the infamous Senate leader who, whose spouse Chao is now in the cabinet (Transportation). Chao family (background Taiwan) fortune based on international shipping. As a powerful politician McConnell has managed to get re-elected for years while keeping Kentucky one of the ten poorest states, which delivered their electoral votes to Donald trump.

(1,397 posts)We have seen this time and again. The GOP is a master at it. Other masters are Hitler, Goebells and Stalin.
It's "The Big Lie." Make a claim that is so outrageous that people will assume that it cannot be a lie, and so accept it as truth.
Strongly assert the lie -- repeat the lie time and again -- all your people repeat the lie -- if you control any media outlets, make certain they repeat the lie -- send your minions out to the talk shows to repeat the lie. Massage available data to 'prove' the lie as being true. Reframe vigorous denial as proof of guilt.
