He learned very early on any misstep and they would investigate and cry foul.

They probably talked about this - how to spread out the intel all over and then make sure Obama was totally diassociated with it all. And if they try something, I imagine it like in the movies, where a manila envelope shows up on a desk of a NYT or WaPo reporter with audio tapes and photos.

The Obama admin was not stupid or careless and his people respected and liked/loved him. Unlike dump. Loyalty and respect goes a long way.
