Jeff Sessions should resign in light of testimony on meeting with Russian official (2 letters)
Re: Jeff Sessions: I feel I should not be involved in investigating a campaign I had a role in, March 2 news story.
In the recent reporting about Attorney General Jeff Sessions meetings with the Russian ambassador and his subsequent failure to disclose them when asked directly during his nomination hearing, a critical point has been lost.
We now have the federal department whose responsibilities include indicting people for perjury being headed by a man who committed perjury. The transcript is clear on this. Moreover, it was not perjury pertaining to a trivial detail in a minor case, but perjury in the most public of venues about a matter of our national security. A normal person who did this during the course of a federal trial might well be charged with a felony.
Whatever your politics are,
positions of public trust in our republic should be held by people who conduct themselves with integrity, honor and dedication to the Constitution. Sessions has demonstrated a deficiency in all three. He should resign immediately.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions lie to the Judiciary Committee, and by extension the American people, is appalling. Not only did Sessions tell a blatant lie, but he failed to take advantage of ample time to correct his testimony before the Senate confirmed his nomination.
This is not just disappointing.
It makes a mockery of the Senate confirmation process, is disrespectful of citizens everywhere, and has a corrosive effect on our democracy. Sessions only appropriate course of action at this point is to resign and apologize to us all.
