General Michael Hayden goes farther than I've heard him go before on "Morning Joe"

Last edited Mon Mar 6, 2017, 09:58 AM - Edit history (1)

Direct quote, answering Mika's question, "Why is he doing this?"

"...If you're asking me why, he's trying to detract attention from what was a very, very bad news cycle, and let me go very very dark on you, Mika, all right? the President of the United States put his reputation, the reputation of his predecessor, and the reputation of this nation at risk to get at least a 'draw' out of the next 24 hour news."

Stunned silence.

We are in deep shit. The last 45 days have been one self-inflicted crisis/clusterfuck after another. What will happen when some nation decides to "test" us? I am scared. Really, really scared and Republicans are just dicking around. GODDAMN IT, OUR NATION IS AT RISK AND NONE OF THOSE COWARDLY ASSHOLES SEEM TO CARE!!!

As much as they want tax cuts, the goal that is topmost in their list of priorities is creating a voting environment, rules and gerrymandering that will guarantee a White apartheid in America for the next century that guarantee perpetual reThug rule. Everything else is just gravy and they can dick around for as long as they want to achieve the lesser-tier priorities. They need that first Supreme judge installed first and they'll stall as long as they think they can, and then they'll flush this orange pile of shit down the toilet.

That fool Trump wants to defund our NOAA weather satellites! Our weather SATELLITES!!! Think about that. Think about how very important weather forecasting is to farmers and ranchers, business, transportation, ocean shipping, navy and coast guard, air force, airlines, private pilots, recreation and tourism business, hurricane tracking, severe storm, tornado, and flood alerts, city planning and preparation for snow and sleet, planning for military manuevers. Is this not the height of stupidity? All to deny collecting info on climate change. What could possibly go wrong?

It appears our entire country is coming unraveled and make no mistake, the Republicans are responsible. They are not fit to govern. The time for complacency has long past and we all need to take whatever (non-violent) action is necessary to remove them from office. None of us can afford to sit on the sidelines any longer. They have been dismantling our democracy for the past 40 years and are well on their way to getting the job done. Bannon has been very open and straightforward about the goal of completely dismantling our government. Why this isn't high treason is a very good question. It is not an understatement to say this is a major crisis of epic proportion.

As Paul Krugman likes to say, "thanks, Comey."

Manufacture drama, outrage so people will tune in to your reality show.

Unfortunately, it's all about the destruction of the government for his advisers.

Ratings are the only thing that matters to him. He has constantly harped about how even bad publicity is still publicity on his show The Apprentice. He purposely picked antagonists like Omarosa to cause drama and have people talking.

So if even one day goes by and he is not in the news for yet another crazy order, or tweet, or accusation, in his mind that day was unproductive. Get used to folks.

If you were like me, I was just gritting my teeth by the time September, October, I was physically ill from hearing Trump Trump Trump 24/7 for two years. And I was saying to myself, "hang in there only another month or two and I won't have to hear about him ever again (ok maybe not never, but at least if he'd lost he'd be shrinking back into his tower licking his wounds for awhile, as we all assumed he would have been the LOSER).

The fact that it is STILL Trump Trump Trump 24/7...and will not change for 4 years...is...I still have not come to terms with that. Every day I wake up, turn on the news, and find out what Donald has tweeted at 2am that night. Then read and listen to the reactions he wants to generate in the all day news cycle. I want to be kept informed, and so I must sacrifice my sanity by having to listen to that name every day.
