'We're going broke': West Palm Beach business owners want Trump to spend weekends somewhere else

DAVID EDWARDS

Residents and business owners in West Palm Beach complained over the weekend that President Donald Trump’s frequent trips to his Mar-a-Lago resort are making their lives miserable.

NBC News reported that Trump’s weekend visits were not only expensive for the taxpayers, but the safety measures implemented by the Secret Service are also costing local business owners big.

“We’re basically going broke,” a spokesperson for Southern Helicopter told NBC News. “We were not expecting him to come down almost every weekend.”

Jonathan Miller, the president of Stellar Aviation Group, worried that his business would go under if Trump continued to make Mar-a-Lago his weekend destination. Miller estimated that he is losing $30,000 each weekend because of Trump.

Additionally, the taxpayers of Palm Beach County are already on the hook for $1.7 million in extra security, and the White House has so far ignored requests to reimburse the county.

of the "residents" being hurt voted for the Terrible Triumvirate led by Orange disaster. I really CGAFL about their money problems. They, for the most part, are uber rich. They can absorb the consequences of their vote. Awww my heart bleeds for them... Yippy!!! SUFFER!!!!

And is full of ordinary, normal working class people, many of whom did not vote for Trump.

I've been there.....and while true to some extent about hard working people, those UBER RICH community(s) are eye dazzling and mind boggling in their ostentatious glitz. I was totally freaked by the size of those ocean going PRIVATE cruisers parked next to their castles, like cars in our driveways....please..I've seen both communities. And one other fact...Boy-potus carried Fla. and Palm Beach and W. Palm Beach...go figure. I feel for those there, as you mentioned who are suffering as innocent voters of HRC, yet all ameriKKKa is suffering now and all americans will suffer worse very, very soon because of the shortsightedness of the uber rich and their vote that they are now forced to endure with all of us retired, chronically ill and/or hardworking people, PoC, immigrants, loving people of all persuasions and genders.

period. And just as a breakdown of Palm Beach vote: HRC-- 2612 votes vs orange disaster 3241. Palm Beach Daily News:source. Breakdown by precinct is there also. Like I said the size of the boats shows me the insecurity that caused them to vote for the most insecure prezident EVER.
