Whenever he is under fire for something in a sustained way, he makes a shocking claim"

The president knows the media cannot ignore him when he says something so inflammatory, and he believes there will be no real consequences for him if it turns out that everything he said was nonsense. After all, there haven’t been up until now.

How Trump Distracts the News Media

March 6, 2017By Taegan Goddard17 Comments
James Hohmann: “It is past time to dispense with the fiction that Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He is trying to distract us. And, at least this weekend, he succeeded.”

“The country’s chief law enforcement officer made a false statement to Congress, while under oath, about his contacts with one of this nation’s biggest adversaries. (Legal experts, including Republicans, note that others have been prosecuted for less.) When he got busted, the attorney general initially claimed through a spokeswoman that he couldn’t recall specifics of what had been said during his undisclosed sit-down with the Russian ambassador, except that it wasn’t political in nature. Then, with his job on the line, he miraculously remembered supposedly exculpatory details.”

“This is a big dang deal, no matter how hard Sessions tries to spin it. It’s such a big deal that, after weeks of refusing to do so and with the president publicly urging him not to, the AG agreed to recuse himself from any investigations related to the 2016 campaign.”

“But the press didn’t spend this weekend talking about Sessions… Instead, everyone talked about whether Obama wiretapped Trump Tower last October. And Trump was happy as a clam about that.”

Key takeaway: “Whenever he is under fire for something in a sustained way, he makes a shocking claim or provocative declaration about something else to change the subject. He is a master practitioner at the politics of distraction.”

even the wiretapping bullshit centered on the Russian involvement. Usually he flies off the handle to a different thing like his yuge inauguration crowds or the 5 million illegal voters.

This time it stays focused on the involvement of his campaign, and maybe himself, with the Russians during the election.

It was a bad distraction, probably because Trump never thinks anything out, he just reacts with the first thought that pops in his head. A good political operative like Rove would have come up with a more effective diversion. Trump is an amateur.

He doesn't seem to be in demand. He doesn't appear to be a Trumpster though, even he won't sink that low, maybe.

Well, when I Googled Rove, he has had a bit to say about Trump, but not in a supportive way. I guess you have to watch Fox News in order to get a glimpse of him.

He has been using these tactic in business for years, but governing is not business and I think his diversions will backfire on him.

That he is a bumbling fool, can barely read, cant comprehend much.

His businesses fail when he is involved and the reason we dont know more about this is you cant work for him in any capacity including WH without signing a non disclosure form, you will be financially permanently destroyed if you tell the truth about him.

I wish Bill Gates or George Soros or someone else, a patriot, would find some of fuckface's employees to come out and tell the truth about him and back them up in court and financially.

We had hoped certain folks in Hollywood who have tapes of fuckface's use of the N word and horrible behavour toward women would have valued justice and America more than hatred of women (known person who has this is religious ass who hates women, or hates abortion, but hates women mainly) , but no.

His instinct is to get revenge and to steal and lie, that is all he knows to do.

The only thing he is any good at is bullshitting and cover up. He knows how to make failure look like success and cover his tracks with non disclosure agreements. He can't even take credit for that. He was taught pretty much everything he knows by lawyer, Roy Cohn back in the 1980s. They only thing Donald can take credit for is prolific lying.

The day after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the lower court's ruling against his executive order, President Trump tweeted, "SEE YOU IN COURT. THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!"

It has been nearly a month since the President warned that our nation was in danger. What has he done about it? Anyone interested? Anyone going to follow up? Or do the media just assume that he was blowing smoke, and give him a pass when he says we're all in grave danger? Why aren't Trump supporters besieging Congress, the media and the courts with their concerns?

approval or money.

He truly believed that is how it works.

He is one of the worst human beings on the planet, that he was almost elected (stolen) by so many of us, tells way more about us than him.

He has no idea how government works or what being president entails. He evidently thought it was like running a business, something he wasn't very good at either.

But it then becomes part and parcel of the conspiracy theories forever.

Don't doubt for a second that years from now you'll encounter people who will bring up the "fact" that Obama wire tapped Trump.
