This Ben Carson Thing is Serious

I'm probably skating on thin ice here, but this needs to be said.

The only reason tRump and the GOP picked him was to have a token black man on their side. His position gives the right wing a way to convey racist rhetoric that will be accepted because "a black man said it". He can normalize racism through the Uncle Tom stereotype. There are people like Samuel L Jackson who will call him out, but what about the tRump supporters who will never read what he tweeted or hear about how racist Carson was from a real news source? Carson's words demean Black history. They trivialize slavery. They set a dangerous precedent for tRumpers to follow.

Carson says something stupid because he kowtows to the right wing agenda. tRump supporters see this and believe that, since it comes from the Secretary of Housing (and a brain surgeon), it must be true. They adopt the narrative. Racism is further entrenched.

The Right-Winger (Sobchak) corrects the nomenclature of the Liberal of the movie (The Dude) for using the Un-PC term, then Sobchaks immediate next words are "Anyways, the Chinaman is not the issue, Dude".

Sorry for using the non-PC term ... just explaining the joke (ducks/hides)

It's truly stunning that ANYONE would spend a second "normalizing" slavery. That's what Carson was doing. He was implying that being abducted and owned by white "masters" was, oh, an inconvenience on the way to immigration status, or that becoming a slave was/is a normal pathway on the road to citizenship. (?)

Ok, all you prominent media types, pick a number and wait your turn. There are no words that can describe Carson's depiction of slavery, but plenty will try.

He decided he was a good fit for HUD because he was black.

That the very last thing Trump and the deplorables care about is what black people think.

and I have heard white Repub "Christians" I know personally, defend slavery and claim that slaves were well treated by their owners, it is especially disturbing for Carson to use language that normalizes slavery by equating people forcibly brought to America as slaves with immigrants who chose to come here seeking freedom and opportunity.
