GOP Sen. Roy Blunt: House GOP health care plan 'may not be a plan which can get a majority of votes to pass'(CNN)Republican Sen. Roy Blunt said Tuesday that the House Republican plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act may not be able to get a majority of votes to pass.
House Republicans released their plan on Monday. The plan has already received push back from conservatives who do not think it goes far enough to repeal measures in Obamacare, and has also raised concerns from some Republican senators that it would leave too many people uninsured.
"Well, I haven't had time to look at it in great depth yet, so we'll see," Blunt said of the plan on KMBZ local radio Tuesday. "What I don't like is it may not be a plan that gets a majority votes and let's us move on. Because, we can't stay where we are with the plan we've got now."

(7,430 posts)You're brilliant! Except that you hadn't read the damned bill yet!
Well, with your unmatched intuition and your commitment to not getting informed about what you're supposed to vote on, you'd fit right into the Republican majority Senate. Why not run for office?

(11,101 posts)They realize that repealing Obamacare will be a train wreck, so they come up with a new plan that they can tie up in the Senate. It's sorta like voting to repeal the ACA 50 times when President Obama was in office. All for show. So the conservatives in the Senate can say "It's not conservative enough!" and yes, they may get some grief from the base, but it still won't be as bad as the backlash from the general public if they completely destroy healthcare.
