(40,153 posts)and that is why he blew up at Franken.
The republicans are waiting for it all to come down. That's why they're so uptight.
It probably is a lot worse than we think.
And it's spelled: R-U-S-S-I-A

(960 posts)Essentially Franken asked:
"As AG will you uphold the law if that law is directed at your friends?"
And then Sessions said:
"I didn't meet with the Russians."
Sessions dug his grave and Franken didn't even need to lend him a shovel.
It'd be like your wife asking you "does this outfit look alright?" and then you said "I'm not having an affair."
The only reason they say it's a GOTCHA question is because we've got them.

(40,416 posts)Franken asked absolutely nothing about Sessions' Russian contacts. In fact, Franken's question was a hypothetical one. Sessions volunteered that he had no such contacts, and he outright lied. Under oath!

(8,445 posts)If you can't field those kinds of questions, you have no business being AG

(51,974 posts)c'mon, that's their bread and butter.
never mind that this wasn't a gotcha question at all, it was a simple unforced error on the part of sessions.
point is that there are contexts in which "it was a gotcha question" is a legitimate objection. this isn't remotely one of them.

(9,670 posts)Franken lobbed Sessions a softball, and Sessions responded with a non sequitur.
In fact, Franken was walking on eggshells with his fellow Senator in the grilling chair. He seemed very, very deferential in fact.

(3,363 posts)that anything will happen with this Russia thing when literally every Republican in charge of all the investigations and committees are corrupt criminals protecting Trump and his admin.

(1,258 posts)to some in the public is,why this country is so fucked up. Decades of people who sit in congress who do nothing for the people they sit in those seats build up their bank accounts and portfolios, destroying lives left and right.
Throughout the campaign, I would get so angry watching people who believed lie after lie, I would tell a friend of mine "Maybe they need a little Trump" and she would scream Noooooo!
Of course I didn't want him but I said once they got him maybe the scales would be remove from their eyes. Some are still blinded and vote for dumb asses like Grassley.
