Rep Joe. Kennedy just threw Ryan's bible quote right in his face. We all need to do this

I was doing this on Twitter for a while until I had to stop or go mad. All these rethugs call themselves Christians and do every single thing that Jesus said not to do and nothing that he said to do.

It is really easy to look up things like, "Jesus's sayings on healing the sick" "The bible on welcoming foreigners"

Just look at what they are doing and there is probably something in that book that they lay their hands on when they are sworn in that says NOT to do it. They are hypocrites of the first degree and they should be shown that, in their face, repeatedly, by all of us.

You don't have to be a Christian to teach these hypocrites about Christianity.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-MA) absolutely torched the House Republicans’ health care plan on Wednesday, and he did it by throwing House Speaker Paul Ryan’s words back in his face.

Noting that Ryan called the House GOP health care plan an “act of mercy,” Kennedy noted that there’s nothing at all in the New Testament that would justify stripping health insurance from millions of people.

“With all due respect to our speaker, he and I must have read different Scripture,” said Kennedy. “The one I read calls on us to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to shelter the homeless, and to comfort the sick.”

The Republicans main voting block are Christians. Yet they are the Anti-Christians. I see it in my own family. They have become so callous over the years by listening to this bastardized version of what Jesus taught. Actually they don't even listen to the actual teachings, they listen to the people who teach. And these people teach what ever the Hell they want and pull different verses to justify themselves.

Truthfully, though I do not consider myself a Christian now I really like the teachings of Jesus since I started reading them! I consider myself Buddhist but what I've found out is Jesus and Buddha taught the same things.

Then, she'd tell me that the stuff they don't like is the stuff that's harder to do, like caring about those who have less than they have and being kind to those who have done wrong or have different beliefs, while taking extra helpings of things like being judgmental.

Today's right wing evangelicals go far beyond that, they have changed the entire message to "If you have money, "god" loves you, if you don't have money, you need to be punished for lacking "god's" favor".

The problem with that idea is that Christianity throughout history has always reflected the ideology of those in power, and as such has been far more of a method of justifying a set of morals rather than a moral philosophy. Hitler even used Christianity to his benefit.

There's nothing new about it. The face of Christianity, or any organized religion for that matter, is always a false facade. Pretending to be a moral philosophy is just the veil religion must wear to maintain a sense of legitimacy. It's always been a means of controlling the masses, which is why it's always been entwined with politics.

3. I just looked up verses on the evils of loving money. Here
Thu Mar 9, 2017, 09:28 AM
Mar 2017
https://www.openbible.info/topics/love_of_money

I went through them quickly, and found these would be appropriate to repeat to these greedy and people

1 Timothy 6:10 ESV /

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Matthew 6:24 ESV /

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

1 Timothy 6:5 ESV /

And constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

1 John 2:15 ESV /

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Matthew 19:23-24 ESV /

And Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

1 John 4:20 ESV /

If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

But I know and DO more of what's in the "Good Book" than a GOPer EVER has. And I don't even ask for receipts for tax deductions. Imagine how STUPID I am - giving without expectation of a return?

Here's hoping Ryan's final "viewing" (when his day comes) has him laid out in a gold-trimmed coffin, an expensive suit and a fat wad of dollars stuffed and overflowing from his lying mouth.

If you are wearing neon signs and constantly quoting scriptures to justify every time you fuck someone over, you aren't really a Christian.

The real ones serve in silence.

Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

He knows the ones who are full of shit.

They claim to be interested in unborn children then they make every effort to stop food stamps which will be feeding the same children they claim to protect. I would hope more Christians will step up and say this is wrong, it is time to follow the teachings of Jesus. Jesus did not hate others, why is the hate of Muslims, etc tolerated by the supporters of Trump who displays his hate of others.

How about they keep religion out of government like Madison wanted. That would cool.

And there are multiple ways to correctly interpret the bible given the multiple and weird contradictions it contains (even with regard to Jesus). They will say you are wrong as much as you say they are wrong. And you both have verses to support you. Another reason to not use religion in policy arguments.

Says if you want to be fed, clothed and safe in a home then join a church. It's not the government's job, it's the failing of people to join churches that's the problem.

There is such a disconnect between cause, action and goal in his world ~

There is is no mercy in a system that makes health care a luxury.

There is no mercy in a country that turns their back on those most in need of protection: the elderly, the poor, the sick, and the suffering.

There is no mercy in a cold shoulder to the mentally ill.

This is not an ‘act of mercy.’ It is an act of malice.”

I was trying to figure out why all that is swirling about us just doesn't feel right..like a thorn in our side - nails on a chalkboard - a splinter in my finger that I just know is there, but I have to wait..

I have no answer..I just know it is wrong -

Think about the most detestable behaviors we are witness to..

Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers - some writings about the seven deadly sins... RESIST..

politics, business and charlatans that pretty much nothing surprises me because l believe religion was invented by mankind as a way to indoctrinate and control the masses. That does not mean there is not a supreme being, or that spirituality does not exist. Viewed from that perspective people like Paul Ryan can be better seen for the power hungry hollow hypocrites that they are.

They will claim it's not the government's job to do all the things that Christians are called upon to do
privately as individuals. And then they'll turn right around and want to use the government to
deny LGBT people equal rights or women the right to make their own health care decisions.

Hypocrites. Just great big fu*kin' hypocrites. I'm sick of the lot of them.

the first gullible dope.

If praying to a deity worked -at all- there would be at least a few people (christians?) who had limbs amputated through no fault of their own running (or at least walking) around with magically, divinely restored appendages.

When we determine whether religion is the cause...or the result...of insanity we might be able to cure both.
