it will be a done deal. They won't believe us when we tell them that the Republican health care bill will essentially cut them off from being able to have health insurance. They'll believe it when it happens, but it will be too late by then.
That is what the Republicans and Trump are counting on. People think that they'll somehow miraculously escape the effects of this. They'll find out, but too late.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

(146,284 posts)That's why I recommend that people with Obamacare insurance have any procedures they will need done this year. Don't wait. It may be impossible to get things like joint replacements, etc., starting next year with the insurance available, even if you can afford to by insurance.
Think ahead, and start thinking right now, if you have a chronic condition that is going to require costly procedures. Get it done while you still can.

(94,489 posts)I don't believe any variant of the GOP Health Care plan kicks in before 2019.

(146,284 posts)in 2018, though. I think they'll kill that almost immediately. So, if you depend on them to pay part of your over-inflated premiums, you may not be able to afford your insurance. That's especially true if you're in the individual market due to self-employment or other factors. Get ready for it. They'll kill those subsidies as sure as I'm breathing, and they'll do it for the 2018 year.

(7,430 posts)He succeeds with the GOP Death Care if there are no bumps in the road on the way to passage. The more delays there are, the greater the probability that the influence peddlers will catch on and snuff the project. Then it will be up for adaptations, and the more the adaptations the better the chance that the final bill will be an actual improvement on the ACA. Trumpian Numbskulls will really don't count in this discussion. Trumpy left them behind after he was elected. Oh, sure, he mentioned that he will never forget those everyday joes during his inauguration speech, but he says a lot of things and lies even more. The GOPers are pre-empting the terrible news from the CBO and they're trying the old flim-flam game for the benefit of their right wing propaganda network. Before April, Fox and Limbaugh will have worked up such a lather that, to right wingers, the CBO will be hated as much as the "Americans Against the Consumption of Bacon" movement. But right now, the GOP has NO interest in the common citizen. They're ejaculating all over the Capitol from their Tower of Power.
Their other major time-sensitive issue is the Russia Connection, but this one will be much harder to resolve- mostly because Trumpy IS a Russian agent, and the only way to stop the talk is to slam the First Amendment down. There are very few ways for Trumpy to come out looking good with this one. More likely, the data will be revealed that Trumpy and his entire campaign team are Russian agents.

(146,284 posts)The popular GOP phrase, "Shoved down Our Throats," comes to mind. By the time we realize we're choking to death, it will be a done deal. We really, really need to be vigilant and vocal. We also need to try to change people's minds on this.
