I disagree with those that want the Democrats and the media to tread lightly...

...with the Trump/Russian story.

To the contrary, I think they need to be even more aggressive in their pursuit of the truth. We cannot afford to assume that there is nothing there. It is possibly the biggest national security scandal in our nation's history.

Protecting our democracy is not something to trivialize or to take lightly. We must pursue it wherever it goes. If, at the end of the investigations, it is nothing more than coincidences, then what have we lost? We don't have the luxury of letting up on this story.

But, at the moment, our democracy is under threat. The media and the Democrats should continue to investigate and report the facts. We already know that Donald Trump is violating the emolument clause of the Constitution, even though he said he would get rid of his business before he was sworn into office. He lied. He should have been impeached already.

I think they need to follow good journalistic practices and report the facts. I'm all for them finding as many facts as they can. Rachel was very good about making clear that some of the information from the dossier has been corroborated but not all of it.

Now is the time to be aggressive and follow the facts, wherever they lead.

WHEREVER.

But we have to continue to be very aggressive in hunting down the facts in this story.

I can think of no good reason to "tread lightly"

The implications of this story are huge, this is not something to gloss over.

The media should not opine without absolute certainty as to who did what and when.

If we start making false claims or try to extrapolate unsubstantiated facts, the opposition will act to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

We need to do this patiently and methodically. I know we're anxious and every day of Trump in the Oval Office is a disaster to America, but we can't afford to mess this up.

Remember, the real media will be inundated with Russian/FOX misdirection and lies that will confound the average American. We need to keep it simple, keep it clean, and get that turd out of our White House.

What do the Republican leadership want ?

They want to get rid of Trump too....eventually

HOWEVER,

1) They want to get all their scurrilous policies enacted, while using Trump as a decoy

2) When Trump does go down, they want the Democrats fingerprints all over this, so they can continue to fool their stupid voters.

3) They'll then have Pence in as President, and the Democrats continuing to be the Devil.

Democrats have to box clever on this one.

The Turtle and the Zombie-eyed Granny Starver would like Trump to take credit for all the shit they are passing into law. They would like to escape criticism, I don't doubt.
