Anybody here remember when I wrote about Julian Assange, Russia, and the CIA?

Anybody remember when I pointed out that Julian Assange was an anti-semitic rapist who employed an anti-semitic rape apologist who freely accused sex crimes victims of being agents of the CIA?

No, don't remember? Well, for shits and giggles, I decided to take a walk down memory lane using the handy little search box given to us by our administrators......

To Believe Julian Assange, You Must Believe Israel Shamir, Vicious Anti-Semite and Liar.

But here is the defense.

Anybody here feel like defending this rapist now?

Also, Trump sent Nigel Farage to talk to Assange.

like years ago when Assange went into hiding. I know that initially I was torn about wikileaks, and I understood those who might be uncomfortable at tactics, but were sympathetic to the 'idea' of greater transparency. But as the years have passed, and some of the docudumps have likely cost some lives, and Assange's questionable associations had become known - stopped sympathizing with those who were still between sympathetic to supportive.

But all that was years ago. So much more is known.

Color me shocked to see that discussion was from 2015, not 2010 or even 2012.

I meant I figured out pretty early, even though at first I was sympathetic but torn. So I expected a thread with lots of Assange support to be back in that era (2010.) I figured more folks had come around to extreme skepticism or worse, long ago. The point I was trying to make, was surprised that there was so much aggressive support for him and his actions as recently as 2015.

You figured it out before me (back in 2010.) Not surprising, I have always found your judgement very discerning and wise. I took a little longer - and will use the excuse that at that point I was pulling really long hours and wasn't reading as closely as I had previously.

And a) nice to see someone else also still uses the word "Dude." and b) I am a dudette

Cool perspective - since I still use the term, I think I will adopt your stance. Female but still a dude.

I am an urban educator. None of my (adolescent) students have any sense/reference point for the tag "Dude" - but they always get the point when I state "Dude" pause "gesture (usually both palms up) ?" which in my context means - uhm - what are you doing? In response to some silly behavior that distracts other students in the class. (It works for me/don't have to raise the voice/students respond.)

The term is so outdated, it is interesting to read that others use still use it - in such diverse situations.

I won't wonder too hard. But seriously, it was clear from the beginning what a piece of Shit Assange was and is. No wordy doublespeak psychobabble defense changed that essential fact about him.
