NARTH Co-Founder and Leader in Ex-Gay Torture Movement Joseph Nicolosi Dead at 70

Psychologist Joseph Nicolosi, a co-founder of NARTH, the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality, has died at the age of 70. Nicolosi was an advocate and purveyor of so-called "reparative" or "conversion" therapy, a form of psychological torture most often inflicted on gay men, lesbians, and bisexual people that falsely purports to "change" them into heterosexuals. Some in the so-called "ex-gay" movement also believe transgender people can be changed. Advocates of ex-gay therapy, which also include anti-gay hate groups and some faith-based organizations, believe homosexuality is wrong and immoral, an illness, or otherwise against human nature.
“We are deeply saddened and shocked to announce the death of Dr. Joseph Nicolosi yesterday in California from complications from the flu,” Nicolosi's Thomas Aquinas Psychological Clinic announced, according to The Daily Beast.
“I do not believe that any man can ever be truly at peace in living out a homosexual orientation,” Nicolosi said, according to Truth Wins Out, an organization created to fight the ex-gay movement. “I think the homosexual condition has certain limitations to it. I think that two men in a relationship have difficulty and two women would have difficulty where there is a certain compatibility between male and female.”
On his website Dr. Nicolosi posted papers he had written, including ones listed as "GAY MALE RELATIONSHIPS ARE INHERENTLY UNFAITHFUL," and "GAYS CANNOT SPEAK FOR EX-GAYS."
