When Democrats win, the pundits command us to "reach out to Republican voters." When Democrats lose, the pundits command us to "reach out to Republican voters."

Republicans are NEVER admonished to extend their outreach. Never. Outreach implies empathy, and empathy is toxic to their essential nature.

Just before the election (when a Clinton victory seemed more likely than not), there were several thumb-suckers about how the prospective President Hillary Clinton was going to have to reach out to disaffected Trump voters, and Democrats were going to have to understand them.

Since then, I have yet to see a major media column or program about what the Trump administration is going to do to appease the majority of voters who didn't cast a ballot for him. Kind of makes you wonder why that is.
