Revised Trump travel ban suffers first legal blow

Federal judge in Wisconsin blocks impact on Syrian family as other courts mull broader relief.
By JOSH GERSTEIN 03/10/17 01:17 PM EST Updated 03/10/17 09:15 PM EST

Madison-based U.S. District Court Judge William Conley issued a temporary retraining order at the request of the Syrian man, who is referred to as “John Doe” in court filings. The judge, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, said Trump's new executive order cannot be used to delay the man’s effort to bring his wife and 3-year-old daughter from the wartorn country to the U.S., but is limited to the individuals involved in the case.

“The court concludes that plaintiff has presented some likelihood of success on the merits and that he is at great risk of suffering irreparable harm if a temporary restraining order is denied,” Conley wrote. “The court appreciates that there may be important differences between the original executive order, and the revised executive order. ... As the order applies to the plaintiff here, however, the court finds his claims have at least some chance of prevailing for the reasons articulated by other courts.”

“Moreover, given the daily threat to the lives to plaintiff’s wife and child remaining in Aleppo, Syria, the court further finds a significant risk of irreparable harm,” Conley wrote, blocking application of Trump's order to the affected family through March 21.

Do not be fooled by the legal mumbo jumbo of either the ban or in the attempt to destroy the ACA.

he basically says that they just put a coat of paint on the old one. He said two major parts of it that failed in the first one are virtually word-for-word. He should know, he got the national hold implemented.

Hawai'i's AG is in too, saying it's basically just a racial profiling document.

ACA aside, the travel ban is still a Muslim ban. And oh, it's been over a month now, and that imminent attack from one of those six countries apparently got postponed.

...and he said he is challenging the new Ban is court. He said that the existing restraining order issued by 9th circuit court should stand given that Muslim Ban 2.0 is essentially identical to the Muslim Ban 1.0 except for removal of Iran and clarification about green card holders. He said that Trump admin has to prove that the existing restraining order is no longer applicable and provide the merit for that assertion.

If you add in deaths from failure to mitigate the destruction of the environment, a predictable consequence of present U.S. policy, Trump could very well end up rivaling Hitler in the number of deaths of innocents. Trump is now understood to be a depraved lunatic, sociopath, psychopath, pathological liar (he's got it all, as they said on Seinfeld; LOL) and is now among the worst of the worst. When will Congress get rid of him?
