from Washington Post:
"A new analysis by Nate Cohn of the Upshot confirms that Trump supporters may have the most to lose from the GOP plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. This chart summarizes its key finding, which is that those groups that stand to lose the most in subsidies to pay for health coverage on the individual market backed Trump:
Those who stand to lose more than $7,500 in subsidies went for Trump by 58-39.
Those who stand to lose between $5,000 and $7,500 went for Trump by 60-35.
Those who stand to lose between $2,500 and $5,000 went for Trump by 49-45.
Those who stand to lose between $1,000 and $2,500 went for Trump by 46-46."

talk me down or prove me wrong, but I'm not sure these voters will ever know they've been scammed.
They'll lose their insurance, but Fox will tell them it's Obama's fault, and they'll believe it.
Trump and the right wing will keep screaming about Mexicans and Muslims, and their base will continue to buy it.

(7,429 posts)They're bedrock know nothing Republican voters who have all manner of afflictions that prevent them from critical thinking. I have to put it that way because I refuse to believe that people stick with someone like Trumpy or Bush 43 after thinking seriously about that decision. It has to be something else, like a developmental disability or severe trauma. Anyway, 43 hit his low ebb at, what, the upper 20s. So I suspect that Trumpy will hold on to that population, who truly won't understand why they're paying double for health insurance and will reflexively blame whomever they are told to blame.
Those people are truly out there. In droves. They will vote and pay for their own painful deaths.

(4,229 posts)As my wife said "he's trying to make good on nearly ALL of the bad things he said, ie fighting with other world leaders, cutting money out of programs that help working people, but none of the good things"
You'd think as much as he talked about the carnage he'd already be doing something to help people get off drugs.
Treatment on demand and a gov't jobs program for ex addicts that helps them get hired later in private jobs comes to mind.
He said something BETTER than he affordable care act but instead it's going to kick millions of poor and working class OFF it.
He said people weren't being paid enough but no move to raise min wage and it appears he will actually rescind the order on overtime.
He really hasn't put forward any border tax or anyway restricted trade in a way that helps US workers and he continues outsource labor.
The coal miners? That he professes to care so much about?? Well the ones losing their health care Manchin and Capito have met with him about it in private but I don't see him bulling his majority to do anything about it.
Apparently the poor just get the crumbs that fall from the rich man's table.
