GOP congressman offers strange Obama conspiracy theory -- and even stranger explanations

By Aaron Blake March 11 at 9:28 AM

Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) took the White House's “deep state” conspiracy theory and added some mustard to it in a newly uncovered speech last week. Kelly said that not only is there a widespread government effort to undermine President Trump, but that it's being led by none other than former president Barack Obama — who is running a “shadow government.” But while the conspiracy theory is strange enough, the explanations offered by Kelly's office are something to behold.

First, here's what Kelly said last Saturday at a local Republican Party Lincoln Day dinner:

President Obama himself said he was going to stay in Washington until his daughter graduated. I think we ought to pitch in to let him go someplace else, because he is only there for one purpose and one purpose only, and that is to run a shadow government that is going to totally upset the new agenda. It just doesn’t make sense. And people sit back and they say to me, 'My gosh, why can’t you guys get this done?' I say, 'We've got a new CEO, we've got some new heads in the different departments, but the same people are there, and they don't believe that the new owners or the new managers should be running the ship.'

Reached by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Kelly's office insisted the comments were supposed to be private and that he was merely reflecting Republicans' frustration with the deep state. “Rep. Kelly delivered his remarks at a private meeting to an audience of fellow Republicans. He was sharing the frustration of everyone in the room over how they believe certain Obama administration holdovers within the federal bureaucracy are attempting to upset President Trump’s agenda.”

Though, when I think about it, I'm not sure if they're actually totally nuts, which they'd have to be to believe most of the nonsense they spew, or just malicious, mendacious bastards. Most likely some of each and a few that are both. Either way, they're potentially extremely dangerous.

They know the power of influence they have over an uneducated, hysterical, paranoid and gullible base. They must be enjoying seeing how far they can push this. They have more freedom than they've ever had to push a hate agenda.

and since Trump is emptying out the various Departments, not much will get done.

Did you know....Mexico has stopped exporting sugar to us.
because...there is no one in DC to do the paperwork that has been done as part of the export process.

feel free to google that.

They're getting frustrated that their corrupt plans are not going as quickly and smoothly as anticipated. Hopefully they can all be removed and sent to JAIL -- problem solved for everybody.

Makes him look like a fool. Beyond that, President Obama can live where he wants.

This would almost be funny if it wasn't so awful.

And now, after leaving office, he runs a "shadow government"? Yes, that is what Repubs are telling each other behind closed doors to soothe their precious feelings. Of course they don't want the electorate or press to hear this insanity.

New motto of the GOP:

"Keep our horrible thoughts, tin foil hat conspiracy theories, fascist aspirations, and destructive plans to ourselves. Can't let the public be sticking their noses into our business."

Obama must have sprung fully formed from the brow of Beelzebub (or the pen of Ian Fleming) since he now has the powers of a Bond arch-villain.

Consider: Obama's the antichrist; a Muslim; a Kenyan; a time-traveler (he went back and planted his "birth certificate&quot ; he's gay and promotes the "homosexual agenda; he "wire tapps" (sic) 45's phones; he's a communist; he's a socialist; he tramples the Constitution for kicks; he "rams" healthcare "down people's throats"; he's married to a transsexual; he's the "father of ISIS"; he hates whites; he grabs guns for fun; and now, he's set up a "shadow government" to track and undo all the wonderful, freedom-and-liberty-loving works of those big hearted visionaries, Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, et al.

Late at night, while God-fearing, sovereign folks are innocently sleeping, there's Obama, plotting and planning his next dastardly move. Every evil in the world, including 45's incompetence and Russian connections, is Obama's fault. Entirely, and without exception.
