Trump attacks Obama because he needs a black boogeyman

President Barack Obama is no longer in office, but you wouldn’t know this looking at how Donald Trump is carrying on these days. If there had never been a Barack Obama, Republicans would have invented him, because they need a black man to beat up for the sole purpose of keeping their base of angry, white, low-information voters happy.

As the pathological liar that he is, Trump’s most recent stunt is to peddle the conspiracy theory, manufactured from whole cloth, that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower. The new president also claimed Obama is behind the leaks in the current White House and blamed Obama for organizing all of the mass protests taking place and for undermining his presidency. This is the same person who just last month said that he gets along with his predecessor, and that the two men like each other. Trump was the only person who believed this.

The current occupant of the White House needs a black man as his boogeyman. Trump made his bones in politics years ago, in 1989, during the Central Park Five case. After a white woman jogger was raped in Central Park, he took out an ad in the major New York daily newspapers calling for a return of the death penalty. Five black and Latino teens were falsely arrested, coerced into confessing to a crime they did not commit, and wrongfully convicted of the brutal crime.

Trump helped create the atmosphere that led to the legal lynching of these boys. Even after DNA evidence exonerated them years later, Trump insists to this day they are guilty. Because in the world of Trump, beating up on black men and pimping alternative facts matters.

Let us not forget that Trump was a leader of the Birther movement — those who believe the unhinged, racist conspiracy theory that Obama was foreign-born and therefore an illegitimate president. Trump began testing the political waters in March 2011, appearing on ABC’s “The View” and demanding to see Obama’s birth certificate. “I want him to show his birth certificate. I want him to show his birth certificate,” Trump said. “There’s something on that birth certificate that he doesn’t like.”

tRump proves time and time again that he is nothing more than an insecure child, pathological liar, and a sociopath. The man lacks a functioning brain and no talent what so ever...this is why he needs to ridicule and demean others. It is the only way he feels he is the bigly guy when all it does is make him look petty, small and in fact inconsequential.

would just scrape off the bottom of his shoes, then keep walking on. It gives me considerable satisfaction to know that the man-boy is eaten alive with the fact that he will never measure up, never fill those shoes.

I agree with you 100%. It has to be eating Dump alive that he will never measure up and will go down in history as a laughing stock and most hated president ever by the entire world.

They won't admit it, but the core of Trump supporters are white supremacists who HAVE to prove that President Obama failed in some way. It just can't stand in their minds that a black man was one of the greatest presidents in history.

That's what we have to fight, with all of our being.

bit as low-information as his supporters. He's feeding from the same red his supporters chow down.

When he attacked Obama, it was because it genuinely offended him that a Black man was the leader of the free world, and when he attacks him now it's because Trump knows deep down that he is a despised laughingstock who will never be respected, whereas Obama will certainly go down as one of our greatest Presidents.

In essence, our resistance to Trump has him angrier than ever, despite his victory. He takes it out on Obama, but he's really pissed at us.

Republicans create, exploit, and inflate wedge issues because their policies only benefit the uber wealthy and big corp. Nothing new here. Its a time tested strategy.

Trump got into office by exploiting wedge issues to the nth degree. This is propaganda pure and simple, it works among the disaffected and uninformed, and he's a sociopath pig with no hesitations to continue as needed.

It keeps his supporters from feeling dispirited by Russia, and by his betrayal of every campaign promise that could help him.

Worse, the black/white zero sum game mindset it encourages causes even more impassioned opposition. That, in turn, results in an equally passionate response from democrats.

If I'm Republican, this is the playbook executed perfectly. Distract everybody with mutual hatred while ramming through legislation for the wealthy.

Sanders is trying to appeal to these folks by focusing on a populist agenda. Thats the only way to counter this. Trump is fooling all of us.

He is only fooling his sheeple base. Bernie can reach out to them all he wants, I would prefer we concentrate on our Democratic base and that is minorities.
