(40,416 posts)These idiots nevertheless keep spewing about election do-overs, nullification, Mulligans...
They need to read the fucking US Constitution.

(51,129 posts)And one has already commented she would already have done so were it not that a civil war would ensue. But, it it is done properly, people will accept it.

(1,097 posts)And nullifying an election ain't one and cannot be done.
1) They die
2) They resign
3) Impeachment and conviction
4) invocation of the 25th amendment with ensuing votes of 2/3 majorities in both Houses of Congress.

(42,694 posts)To say that they "allowed" it to "advance" paints an entirely misleading an inaccurate picture of the situation.
The initial suit was tossed out by a lower court. Pending the filing of the petition of a writ of mandamus, the plaintiffs asked Justice Breyer for an emergency stay of the decision of the lower court and that was denied. Then they went to Justice Ginsburg with the same request for relief and that were denied again.
In short, the plaintiffs have lost at every stage of the proceeding and will lose again (this time with no further recourse) later this week.
That is the harsh reality. But its better to face the harsh reality and move forward than pin one's hope on a total fantasy.

(1,097 posts)An automatic move to a conference where it won't even be commented on does not constitute the SCOTUS moving it forward. Same shit happened with every bullshit Birther lawsuit that went to the SCOTUS and every idiot Birther said the same bullshit about the "SCOTUS moves lawsuit forward" every last damned time,
It's pure idiocy and stands zero chance of even being commented upon in conference, let alone actually moving forward.
This is the idiot Birtherism of the left.
It won't happen because the very idea runs counter to the constitution.

(51,129 posts).... The High Court has scheduled a conference for March 17, 2017.
While this is good news for those holding out hope that the election results may be undone, legal experts are predicting the petitioners chances of prevailing are slimmer than Trump having graduated the University of Pennsylvania summa cum laude.
In a story on the subject, Occupy Democrats described the court action as a longshot, later indicating the petition has a 1% chance of even being heard by the court, let alone of being decided favorably for the petitioners.
But isnt the fact the Court assigned a docket number and a conference date a good sign? ......

(1,097 posts)This lawsuit is just as much bullshit as the Birther lawsuits and stands just as much of a chance.

(36,926 posts)and Comey interfer 11 days before the 2016 election to make sure Hillary lost, I think all bets are off. We're in wild and unprecedented times.

(1,097 posts)This lawsuit is the left's equivalent of a Birther lawsuit.
It is pure idiocy.
