Indivisibility.

Why do we continue to be so divided here on DU? Can we Democrats and the Party expect to survive the rise of groups that promote indivisibility?

Steeped in the bitter dregs of the least presidential election in memory, a new politics is percolating from Scranton to San Francisco, Miami to Maine and points in between.

The movement is called Indivisible, but I think “herbal tea party” has more punch. Indivisible was seeded by an Austin, Texas, couple disappointed by the election of Donald Trump. Democrats and former congressional staffers, they adapted the lessons learned in the “tea party summer” of 2009 and assembled a playbook patterned after the Republican revolt against President Barack Obama....

“This is not about Democrats or Republicans,” Hal said. “Our goal is to come together as Americans. The two-party system is dead.”

Not quite, but it’s high time to hound it into the hungry twilight of history. Indivisible Lackawanna County quickly attracted more than 500 members on Facebook. The group is working to schedule public meetings to explain its goals and recruit new members.

Way to miss the point: it's not about Democrats and Republicans.

And any Democrats who want to be authentically united, not divided, ought to be figuring out how to do that within the party as well as without.

... and that's still alarming to a degree.
