Club Pachyderm liked to beat us over the head with the late Senator Byrd's decades-long-past membership in the KKK. But there's a BIG difference--Senator Byrd not only made amends and changed his views and voting patterns, he'd demonstrated his changed behavior for DECADES!!!

I don't see Sreve King showing any signs of a "Road to Damascus" moment of conversion with HIS bigotry. He's still out there practicing white nationalism out where all can see it. I see Senator Byrd's past as a story of transformation and redemption; I DON'T see Steve King's continuing racist behavior as being remotely similar.
