For the laziest activists among us--ResistBot

I count myself among this number, I just signed up for this last week and it is great. Your texts turned into hard copy faxes to your Senators and Member of Congress.

Stop waiting for the electeds to read your mind--in a minute or two, you can get set up and join the resistance from your couch. No excuses! xoxoxo

Sending a text message to reach your Senator or Representative may sound less impactful than making a phone call or stopping by their office in person, but Putorti said faxes and emails “are considered just as effective or more so [than phone calls] because there’s no way to truly verify if a call is from a constituent.”

“What staffers need are tallies, turning constituent input into a count of support for or against. Ideally there would be a much better system for this but our democracy isn't perfect, it's incredibly messy,” he said.

AT the end of each day staff have to provide a list and a rough analysis of phone calls received (subjects, pro or con).

You've got an easy one and a somewhat easy one. There are TOLL FREE Capitol Hill switchboard numbers in my sig line below. OR, with a quick visit to Google, you can find your reps' LOCAL or regional offices, and those phone numbers, too. Chances are good the LOCAL/regional numbers won't be as busy as the Capitol Hill numbers are, toll free or not.
