just said that it is hard to find anyone who is really happy with their insurance coverage. He specifically mentioned Medicare and Medicaid. I just had major surgery. Got the statement from my provider and bills from the hospital. I stayed 3 nights, had physical therapy, a blood transfusion and care in a regular room. I have paid the hospital around $1000. My surgeon took what Medicare paid. I suspect there will be more bills but nothing major.
Sean, I am quite happy with my Medicare.

(21,946 posts)they used an artery or vein (don't know which it was) from his leg to do it. And it cost us less than 2600.00 out of pocket. That's the most we would have had to pay out of pocket for the year with the supplemental we have.
I think we paid around 1300.00 out of pocket.
Can't beat that. That covered doctor, hospital, meds, ambulance to take him to Green Bay, everything.

(50,170 posts)On a Sunday night I had a sudden scary problem and made an emergency room visit. The total bill was in the neighborhood of $5,000 and Medicare covered all but $300. (I'm now fine, by the way.)
