One view (mine) - things can't happen fast enough for we here at DU - it is so horrific. BUT....

When we ponder how long politics typically takes to unwind - think Watergate - and probably catalyzed by the scorched earth tactics of the bumbling yet fully destructive cabal now in power, things are moving really fast.

I cannot think of ONE DAY since election night when there hasn't been some sort of train wreck occurrence - typically many of them - in the news.

But - and I've only been on DU for a few minutes yet am stunned by a few headlines - the Comey Russia thing, the Maddow tax thing - I have to think...just HAVE to think - that enough "adults in the room" (overt or covert) in some sort of power position are sufficiently freaked that things are being put into motion to make it all go tumbling down. Perhaps it is the Bannon shit - perhaps the ICE stuff - certainly the tax stuff...or the spying allegations against Obama - but...

I think that one or more straws is finally breaking the camel's back.

At least one can hope....really really hope. Because we lost our 8 year beacon of hope and it has been entirely absent since about 8 PM election night.

satisfy anyone, this has been going at breakneck speed, and no one is satisfied.

The good thing is there are people out there who are now paying attention who wouldn't normally.

I just had a dt supporter/FB "friend" elaborate on a comment about Rachel's news tonight. She informed me they were from 2005. Cool. She's paying attention.

and my best educated guess says that's how long the GOP is going to want to keep Asshole and his nest of Russian agents in there, first so they can do as much legislative overreach as they can and second, so that Pence or another buttwipe of their choosing if Pence gets knocked out will have a potential 10 years to serve ahead of him.

This gang is so much worse than Nixon ever dreamed of being that I am not sure at all that they'll be able to drag it out this far, especially if state AGs start to file charges over his business practices, the IRS actually audits a return or two and raises hell, or the intelligence agencies he's thumbed his snout at start leaking heavily to the press, emphasis on the sensational. One straw at a time is not going to do it. We're going to need bales.
