(51,129 posts)And they are very good spying devices, so don't expect privavy if using one is a public facility. Their wires might be tappped.

(1,629 posts)I suppose if it's a networked copier it might be tapped somehow... but these printers also have hard drives which have copies of all recent documents... and they might never be wiped.

(51,129 posts)away a file version of everything that was "photocopied" by the machine. The establishment can have a copy of every doc go to a computer or other storage device.

(12,640 posts)So, if you know the printer, you can probably figure out who made the print-out. Similar to a disk or thumb drive - or emailed files. No matter how you spoof it, there are still traces to an actual device.
