While he is wounded and is not a sure thing, he has a relative good chance to be re-elected. It looks like he will not face strong Democratic opposition in the primary, and the cast of characters who are running on the GOP side are nothing to write home about.
De Blasio is a disappointment and most people in the city feel that way, but in the age of Trump we just don't want another Republican mayor. If Hillary won Bill would be in trouble, but with Trump he has something to run against.
We can only hope that if there is a second term that de Blasio cleans up his act and pays attention to the entire city instead of just his favorites.
