So who else ditched friends or family over a Trump split?

Now, in my situation, things had been going south for some time with my step brother, ever since he managed to find me about 25 years ago. I was at my ropes end with him and he was pissing off my friends. I can't remember the thing he said that was the final straw but I unfriended him on Facebook.

A more computer savvy individual than myself told me I needed to block him so he couldn't see my posts. No need. He blocked me. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Life isn't long enough to put up with someone like him.

I couldn't ditch anyone over politics but I lost respect for a few coworkers. My family is 100% liberal as well as my friends.

I would have just kept ignoring his trumpery but having a disabled son, I took my brother to the mat regarding Trump's mocking of the disabled reporter and then I was just done.

Who hates both Democrats and Republicans, is pro-immigration, highly critical of white racism (she's white) yet constantly defends Trump because "He doesn't play by their rules" and "Killary caused people to die in Benghazi and runs a sex ring in a pizza place!"

When I politely asked her to back those claims up, and elaborate on Trump's noble revolutionism she wouldn't and simply told me "It's all out there look it up"

Oh, she also told me Michelle Obama is transgender and their kids were adopted.

When I asked her "Where the hell did you GET THAT from?" She responded "I don't know"

She's 62 and recieves like 500 some dollars of Food Stamps because (by her own admission) she can't hold down a job for more than 2 weeks due to her mouth.

It would do no good telling her that Republicans AND Trump will be slashing Food Stamps, because she'll tell me we won't be here in 2018 because rapture.

I'm expounding so much upon this woman's crazy so we can finally stop the bullshit arguements that having contempt for these people and/or seeing them as morons is no better than fucking racism.

As a brown person, that pisses me off.

I see the woman, as human. We're both quite friendly with each other, I just know she's an incorrigable Loony Toon.

..That's how old I thought she was, when I met her.

I'm 30, and my mother will be 49 soon, so it's all relative.

I'm not saying she's "too old" to vote, work, or do anything though.

She's just nuts.

He's a nice guy, but stubbornly libertarian.
Everytime he mentions maggot I remind him of his brother who screwed him out of thousands.

salvo in an ongoing long and difficult relationship with one of my SILs, who is a RW evangelical religious fanatic as well as being wrong about just about everything important in life.

She is my husband's sister and he - who is one of the most open-minded persons I know (MUCH more so than I) - can barely tolerate her. She is unmarried, has never succeeded in a relationship and is more to be pitied than anything else. But I have no sympathy or empathy whatsoever for her any more. I did try - more than once - but no more.

Fortunately, we see her as little as possible already. We are courteous, but no more.

Some other family members were either young or thoroughly misguided in their voting in November. I still nurture hope for them.

My childhood best friends sister (she continued to come onto my FB page and comment on my posts). I politely asked her to stop, then I asked again and told her to stop or I'd have to block her. Then she went on a tirade. We're from the northeast but she moved to South Carolina years ago. I ended up saying a few impolite things on the back wall....i.e.-Leave me alone, you white trash, trailer park loving, uneducated, hillbilly.

Then I blocked her.

As far as family, most of my relatives are redneck types. We've all agreed to not bring politics up at any family gathering.

five of which now are blocked from all means of contacting me because they refused to tell me they didn't vote for the loser of the popular vote:

I don’t apologize if this pisses you off, you need to be pissed off.

I have been struggling with how to address this, get my head around it, and put a stake in the ground regarding it. There was no question in anyone’s mind what this person was and what he stood for while running. Anyone who could vote for him despite all this is not someone with whom I want to be associated in any way. The thought of speaking with a supporter enrages me further as each day’s news breaks with more insane cabinet appointments. At this point, I am disassociating myself from people who voted for the loser of the popular vote.

Happy New Year, not. Good luck to us all.

I guess 5/25 lost is not too bad.

I warned them about their support for Trump. It wasn't centered around policy so much as his character: making fun of the disabled, racist remarks, horrid remarks about women, not renouncing white supremacists, etc. I told them flat out I wanted nothing to do with them if they were going to ignore these issues or try to spin them. Many did support him so I told quite a few I was sitting shiva on them.

DTM

I ain't playing about that. I never was and never will. It revealed a lot about people. They have a loooooong way to go to prove they don't support those ideas too. Not gonna just be sweet if they change their minds. I will never trust them again.
