(70,197 posts)for that matter. Maybe some are, but certainly not Trump himself.
I was standing in line waiting to see Hillary last year, and one of my "line friends" said that Ivanka was smart. Another of my "line friends" said that she wasn't. He said he had gone to Wharton with Don Jr. and they were not smart. He also said that Don Jr. was a nice guy back then, but changed. He said that, at the time, Don Jr. never had any money. His father had to pay Ivana child support and wouldn't give the children money beyond that. This guy said he'd often cover Don Jr.'s part.
But I suspect that Ivanka had whatever her spoiled ass self desired from her dad.

(58,785 posts)impressive scale, for sure. Both, but especially the older, ethically challenged at best and likely involved in illegal activities.
I haven't formed an opinion about Ivanka. She's clearly rational and generally well functioning. To have a relationship with that mentally disordered father would require always seeming to be 100% on his side, and intensely admiring. If he distrusted her at any point, their relationship would be severely broken, perhaps permanently.
From what I've read, when her parents divorced when she was a young girl and he withdrew from her life (literally to a lower floor in a highrise), she actually reorganized her life so that she could call him every day from school and she could drop in on him every day he was there in order to keep the relationship alive.
What I'm wondering is if she (and the sons also sometimes) may be doing some of those immoral, unethical, stupid, and/or incredibly tacky things specifically because he advises her to and because constantly striving to please him is how she not only manages to stay close and have some influence but avoids being shut out in the cold with zero influence.

(Oh, but vanity prevents that - doesn't it, dear Don?)
