And all his supporters pointed out how he paid more than Obama (18%) or Romney (14%).
But, the big picture shows us that the wealthy are not paying a fair share of taxes. They complain about the high corporate rate (35%) but very few pay that high rate because of deductions and loopholes.
Trump did not pay any taxes for many years. Some big corporations actually received refunds for their tax liabilities.
With our huge deficits and proposed cuts in programs such as Meals on Wheels, isn't it time our representatives begin to discuss the issue of tax fairness?

If that, I mean, since we know he pays NO taxes at all for the last 20 years OTHER than 2005.
the fact that the rightwing arent angry that he doesnt pay taxes and they do, is our signal that half this country is brain-dead.

(9,934 posts)And he will not disclose the schedule forms from that year (where the income and deductions came from) or any other year's tax returns. He admitted during the debate to paying little or no taxes because he was "smart". He does not care about fairness and neither does the GOP.

And the Democratic Party needs to be the Party of progressive taxation, otherwise, the wealthy will have it all and the people will have little to nothing.
It is a very important issue.
