I do remember going to one of her concerts decades ago, but not so many decades that the audience wasn't made up mainly of middle aged folks. There was a warm feeling of comraderie... flower children turned middle school parents.

And it has been cut already several times. Some Republicans can afford to attend very expensive live concert tickets, so guess they are blind as to how those orchestra members started learning music - mostly in public schools. And so much art and music have already been squeezed out of the curriculum because of the excessive testing requirements and other reasons, including indifference by school boards and legislators.

If I didn't have PBS and NPR I would be a very unhappy camper.

also miss Prairie Home Companion and Diane Rehm

I listen via app on my IPad or Phone, and am able to hear recently aired shows also.

Favorites: This American Life, Ted Talks, The Word, Fresh Air (depending upon who's on), Media Matters, Texas Matters, the news (morning), Science Friday

I used to hear On Being, but I don't think it's on here now, if it is, don't know when it comes on. Also, I first heard Ken Nordine years ago, when I would wake up in the early AM. I just loooove his voice and crazy meandering poetry; I have found a few CD's of his online.

Also, an organ recital program (can't remember the name) used to be on here, but no longer. However, I found their online website, and I can listen to hours and hours from that.

I can stand only a bit of the news on TV and depend upon NPR and internet sites for news and information.

Where exactly are you? If you don't mind me asking. It's called public tv for a reason. I am sorry to hear about this trouble, furtheradu. You should be able to get a public tv signal wherever you are in Texas and the USA.

NPR on in my kitchen every morning.

Stay encouraged.

Stations within 30 miles. (I'm south of Texas!)
Goood news is, working a new j-o-b, for an awful trumper, will soon be able to invest in a better antenna!
But, yeah! Really ticked me off, when it all went 'hd'.. low income people's teevee options were severely limited.. I can see nbc & frickin fox, but no PBS. At the time, I complained: we ought to have free or low cost inner nets for every American, instead we have less over the air broadcast teevee, unless we can afford cable/satellite.
But o, yeah, npr, every morning, & all thru the night!

you should be able to pick-up PBS music station even with a plain rabbit ears. Try some tips off the internet search.

search words in quotes like "how to make a better antenna for TV" gives 4,750,000 results suggestions like-

1.Put it in the Right Location. ...
2.Use a Longer Cable To Reach That Window. ...
3.Face it in the Right Direction. ...
4.Lay Your Antenna Flat Horizontally. ...
5.Move it Higher Up. ...
6.Move it Outside. ...
7.Use a Better Cable – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Love the internet resources and love my free TV stations

"Barney."

"Teletubbies."

I have watched "Globetrekker" religiously for years and years.

"Austin City Limits." Since I was in junior high!

"Masterpiece Theatre" especially when they run those epic shows on India and British colonialism.

Lots of shows, as much as I get from HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, Epix!

And when we do without cable - always had PBS for quality programming on the digital "rabbit ears" (now)!

No demonstrable benefit? When you see us on the streets for another thing, you'll understand demonstrable!
