Why are you revealing to a suspect he is under investigation @DevinNunes ! Stop obstructing justice! Resign! -Louise Mensch
Huh? Devin Nunes says of "people working at the White House now," none are under intel investigation or surveillance "but one."

This IS obstruction of justice. Devin Nunes should resign from the committee ASAP.
Also, wasn't he on Trump's transition team?
Edited to say: NOBODY has said anything like this before. Not.A.Single.Person. This was intentional. He is giving his buddy a heads up, and just told the world that somebody in the White House IS under investigation currently.

(11,589 posts)I don't think he should resign, TBH.
Take a listen to what Schiff said today on Meet The Press: http://www.mediaite.com/online/there-is-circumstantial-evidence-of-collusion-top-house-intel-democrat-on-russia-and-trump/

(11,589 posts)Here in this commonwealth (state), if we vote a Dem back into to the Governor's mansion, we have a REAL chance at redistricting after the 2020 census. That can change Virginia for decades.
I would be fine with any number of capable (D)'s running for office, but I REALLY believe that we gotta work on the midterms. We do well then, the sky can be the limit.
Adam Schiff is becoming a strong leader in the Houe of representatives, and I am really happy to see him so far out there speaking truth.

(47,267 posts)He comes across as calm, rational, informed, and focused - a prosecutor's prosecutor. Anyone in the White House guilty of wrong doing should be very concerned.

(11,589 posts)I don't think he did and he did not reveal any names.
He made himself a possible witness, but I don;t see his obstruction of justice.
*Once this jenga tower comes tumbling down, I will probably stop being concerned with her. She has made it clear her concern is getting this monster out of office. I can stand behind anyone for that.

(11,589 posts)I'm not convinced Nunes is that smart to telegraph such a thing, especially after watching the joint presser with him and Schiiff.

(11,996 posts)releasing Flynn's name - THAT is the crime they are focusing on.

(11,996 posts)And the question Wallace asked in the OP refers to past surveillance on any people in trump world...he is trying to find out about Trump's Obama reference, and Nunes keeps coming back to unmasking Flynn.

(16,420 posts)There may be a reason for that. Here is a post from DailyKos.
...snip
Although it would appear that both groups were seeking much the same information, from the two radically different responses it is evident that the content of those briefings were not the same. What may have made the difference is who Comey was addressing in each briefing. He trusted those in the Senate briefing with highly confidential information but the same cannot be said for the briefing given to Nunes and Schiff.
If there was someone in that House briefing that Comey didnt trust, it was Devin Nunes. The circumstantial evidence against Nunes is certainly piling up:
*He was on Trumps transition team which was chockablock with Russiaphiles
*As chairman of the House Intel Committee, he initially refused to investigate Trump-Russia but focussed instead on White House and agency leakers
*As directed by the White House, he told media contacts (as provided for him by Sean Spicer) there was nothing to any of the Kremlingate stories
*His apparent agreement to investigate Trump-Russia after all came shortly after his total denial of the Kremlingate stories; he should have recused himself but refused to do so
*Having agreed to investigate Trump campaign ties to Russia, he has since spent his time avoiding such an investigation and diverted his committee down the garden path of non-existent wiretaps
*Comey has given two briefings to Nunes committee and both times the briefings were very general, whereas Comeys briefings to Upper Chamber have resulted in tight-lipped and very worried senators.
Thus far Nunes remains on my list of GOP congressmen who are likely to be involved to some extent in Kremlingate while Chuck Grassley is in the clear.

Hell, they'd have had 3 investigations going by now if this was a dem in office. They'd be salivating!

(6,916 posts)This is one of the most important issues of the year. Nunes is disclosing info that should be kept secret.
Please call your congressman and tell them we need a special commission ASAP. Nunes is too close to Trump as shown by this obstruction of justice. No wonder Comey doesn't want to brief the Hill.

(16,420 posts)Click or don't. I'm just trying to document this as it unfolds.
House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes said Sunday that there is no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government during the presidential campaign. He added that there is a member of the Trump administration under either investigation or surveillance.
Nunes committee is investigating alleged Russian interference in the presidential election, as well as leaks from the intelligence community. The California Republican told Fox News Chris Wallace that the only crime there is evidence for is the leaking of the names of Americans who were caught up in surveillance, such as former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
The House Intelligence Committee chairman did tell Wallace that there is an investigation or surveillance currently being conducted on a member of the White House.
If you look at the folks who are working at the White House today that are involved in the Trump administration, I dont think there is any but one there that is under any type of investigation or surveillance activities at all, Nunes said.

(13,903 posts)The real crime is someone leaked that the Trump admin was ignoring the skeevey character of Flynn and put him at the head of national security council........conveniently leaving out that the continued cover up by the Trump admin was morally, ethically questionable and possibly aiding and abetting Flynn in his crimes.
