But they were too busy whining and trying to repeal it. They kept promising that they would have a "better" plan. In case we didn't know they were lying before, the definitely do now.

There's only one way to explain this: they not only don't care, but they WANT people to die. I know that sounds crazy, but what else are we to think? They KNOW what their so-called health care plan will do and still they shamelessly push it, thinking the rubes won't know the difference. (They may have a point there; some Trump voters have said they thought Obamacare would be repealed, but not their ACA!)

I think it will be drastic. So many millions are losing coverage. If they and their families and friends are motivated to vote against Republicans in 2018, we Dems having a winning issue.

The Democratic Campaign Professionals should be working with these disenfranchised People as soon as possible. When the Republicans vote to throw millions off of Health Insurance, the Dems need to be there to hang this failure around the Republican's necks. The goal is to take back Congress in 2018.

I am hopeful and fired up. We need Health Care Warriors out there.

Families have gotten their children care before serious disease has set in....I wonder how many saved by the ACA, ever think that the "black guy" saved them? I know my insurance saved every sent I have because of several health emergencies...and I do know who was responsible for Medicare ....it was LBJ....some of those emergencies have happened while I have been on Medicare...and I am so grateful for it..

It is completely unfathomable to virtually every Canadian I talk to why the US isn't clamoring for something at least somewhat similar. And the vote mentioned above - 217 to 214?

When it came time for Canadian federal representatives to vote, it was an up or down vote on a plan far more radical than the ACA - 100% coverage and virtually free to all - and the vote wasn't quite as close. It was 177 to 2.

I can't imagine why the difference is as stark as it is.

On a slightly interesting side note, the man whose efforts were by far the most consequential of any individual involved, Tommy Douglas, was named The Greatest Canadian in a national poll that was open for a year. Sometime after the plan was in place and he was being interviewed for a bit of a retrospective, he said "Beware the little man with a big idea."

He was also Keifer Sutherland's grandfather.
