this remark was way too defensive, way too much of an overreaction, and the utterly baseless accusation that hillary was somehow a puppet was so obviously projection as to be comical.

i'm amazed this wasn't treated as at least as big a gaffe as gerald ford forgetting that poland was, at the time, on the other side of the iron curtain.
