The idea that Nunes ran over to the WH to brief them on what is essentially nothing seems unlikely

I'd like to see a public, under oath, investigation of what, exactly, the Congressman said and to whom.

The whole thing seems more like he wanted to update them on something urgent, without being recorded or risking having an email intercepted.

You're right. Nunes ran right over there to Trump in broad daylight.
So the question is... is this intel so damaging that he didn't
care about how it looked... OR... is it all a bunch of theatre
to create a big kerfuffled distraction??? Or is he just another
Republican idiot who can't help but shoot himself in the foot.

Maybe all three??

You don't necessarily need to be a genius to be elected to office.

However, he said he knows where it is.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Think it was with Tapper. Can't remember, have been switching around so much between tv stations and web sites.

So supposedly, since he doesn't have them in his possession, he can't share them with the committee. I guess we are supposed to take his word for it re: the contents?

But, if he doesn't have the documents in his position, he can't turn them over to the FBI or a special prosecutor. Very convenient.

No - my bullshit-o-meter is ringing off the charts on this one.

Maybe it's like the info from the private investigators in Hawaii checking into Obama, or maybe it's Melania refuting immigration allegations, or maybe.....I think you get the point:

Not many people will be surprised if this information never gets seen by the committee. At this point, it can be plausibly argued that this entire episode is a stunt based on a fabrication. If so, it was a clumsy attempt to provide cover for Trump on the wiretapping allegations, and to deflect attention from, and delay, active investigations in general.

The scary thing is that he may be laying the groundwork for a "trumped-up" effort to get rid of Comey.
