Whoulda thunk? For those not watching, she was discussing the health care changes made to mollify the so-called Freedom caucus and she was pretty outraged that they didn't want to cover maternity care and she said she didn't want to cover prostrate cancer! And she almost said "WTF"? It was the most human I've seen her in a while. All I can say is if they keep hustling her out of the room w/ the POS SOS, she may even get feistier.

8. House Republicans don't dare postpone the vote

President Trump ordered them to vote, and by golly they're going to vote or he'll know the reason why!

The political reality, of course, is a tad more complicated. Even if this clanking nightmare of a bill passes, the Senate is by no means bound to follow suit. A vote on the record is going to be really difficult for Republicans to explain to the folks back home, whether they support the bill or not. If they vote against it, they'll hear "Why didn't you keep your promise?" If they vote for it, they'll hear "Why did you vote to kill me?" Neither alternative is very attractive to Republicans who have to be feeling a little bit of heat, even in the safest districts.

Not holding a vote may be the best course, because then Ryan can blame the failure on Trump for his inexperience and early detachment from the process. Holding a vote exposes House Republicans to the worst of both worlds, the only upside being that they'd make Trump look good because he ordered them to vote. I don't think that's much of a carrot, considering how much stick they're going to get.

If the conservatives and so called moderates hang tight as groups, they can force Ryan not to bring it to the floor, thus avoiding responsibility for any of them.

If you're a Republican isn't the sweet spot to oppose the ACA because it is imperfect while not having to vote against it and depriving millions of care?

involved of any of the 4 presidents he has worked with in getting his (Trump's) "signature legislation" passed. Ryan has preemptively hung the failure on Trump.

Trump will go after Ryan for that, and Bannon and Breitbart HATE Ryan, so they will, too--and already are going after him on this bill.

If they pull the bill, it is because they know they don't have the votes. They lose. They wrote a stinking piece of garbage and they lost. They won't get another shot at it for awhile and if they try it again, it will be under intense scrutiny.

The fact is that Republicans simply want to take healthcare back to what it was before the ACA, when insurance companies could sell garbage plans and steal people's money. Additionally, they want to destroy the Medicaid program and severely damage Medicare. They want to force a completely private and unregulated system so that maximum profits and minimal care can be achieved. Even with its many flaws, the ACA showed people what a little government assistance could do and all but the most ignorant or entrenched Trump and GOP supporters saw the benefit of government involvement. Anything Republicans do short of fixing the ACA would probably get the same treatment because face it, ACA was the Republican's best plan.
