In some ways the most calculating thing for the Democrats is to oppose ACHA

so that their base (which obviously very much includes me) is happy with their opposition but hope that it goes through with Republican votes only. because then Democrats get to campaign against this monstrosity for decades.

However, the downside to this plan is that many people will die. Many of them Trump voters who are older, poorer, live in rural areas and depend on the medicaid expansion.

I am happy to be part of a party that isn't so cruelly calculating, but in some ways that would be the most strategic move.

we just have to sit back and laugh our asses off now at the Republican Party!

The easy part of legislating is to "Just say no."

Our turn!!!!

And yes, people will die. But, guess what? When people didn't go to the polls to vote for Hillary or threw away their vote on a candidate other than Hillary Clinton, they were essentially voting for people to die. According to some of the articles I've read on here, the idiots are now realizing that they voted to raise their own premiums, get thrown off Medicaid (or have to work for it!), and to lose their life-sustaining meals on wheels.

So the blood is ultimately on their hands. If Trumpcare passes (and that's in doubt... they are short at least 20 votes), we will definitively take back the House after the midterms.

My heart goes out to the innocents that didn't vote for this -- who exhibited compassion and understanding for others. May they be spared from the horrible consequences of The Party of Russia's policies.

Strategically, our ultimate goal has to be to break this one-party rule. If we take back the House, we can begin impeachment proceedings. We HAVE to be calculating. That is the only way we will defeat these monsters.

If the plan for political hegemony includes the incidental step of "a lot of people will die", then one could easily imagine a more effective route from A to B in which the people who die are at least not innocent bystanders. But neither would be a good plan.

sometimes what is strategic to a party is not good for a country. i am glad the democrats are not picking what is only good for political hegemony.
