On behalf of my generation. On behalf of the people who are between the ages of 50 and 64. On behalf of those of us who probably stood to lose the MOST if that bill had passed today.
I want to thank everyone who called, faxed, emailed, etc. Thank you very much for taking the time and putting forth the effort to contact your representatives and tell them this was bad for our country.
I can't stop crying because I was truly afraid it was going to pass. And I certainly know we are not out of the woods, but nonetheless, thank you for today.

(14,944 posts)Hubby and I are struggling and at 63 and 60 it was not looking good for us. I made the calls and encouraged others and I am very pleased he and smirking Ryan were handed a resounding defeat. I still think we need medicare for all.

(9,238 posts)I nagged and nagged people here on DU and elsewhere to call, call, call...and I called too. We dodged a HUGE bullet but STAY VIGILENT. Those dirtbags will be aiming at Obamacare in other ways - much more SNEAKY ways than this time.

We can give each and all of us a big slap on the back and extend out for a handshake, and in a lot cases a kiss on the cheek for the millions that fought this injustice, but we must not let up
