(25,225 posts)they should be put on hold until they can testify to a Special Prosecutor or Grand Jury - under oath.
The risk to be taken if they go before the House Committee and not under oath is that they lie their butts off and provide Trump with talking points that make him look good.
You know that will happen if it is not under oath. They need to be held to a perjury standard and if they can't - I don't think they should let them testify.

and they know it. That's why they're volunteering, to make
it look like they have nothing to hide or did nothing wrong.

(8,203 posts)What would be the harm in Yates testifying..it is going to happen anyway -
Also - IF, the Intel community has them dead to right, what would be the benefit of them appearing and lying?- I hope they do..but then I think (the committee) will get I don't remember, or I don't know - besides, if the committee doesn't have all the information, what pertinent questions could they ask?

(13,523 posts)wouldn't the committee have, in their hands, evidence of wrongdoing?
And they could hold it up and say, HEY, you dumb shit, we have a photo/audio recording/video tape/credit card receipt of you doing THIS THING at THIS TIME in THIS PLACE? - and then the losers would have to respond?
And then maybe they'd take a breath, knowing they're done for, and start stuttering and then burst into inconsolable sobs? - Cuz I am down with THAT scenario!
