Something very confusing about the Nunes/Trump meeting ?

In my opinion, Nunes is lying to his fellow members on the Committee and to the American people. Why? Because everyone that works for Donald Trump has to be willing to lie and cover for him to show their loyalty. It is doubly suspicious because he is the present Chair of the House Intelligence Committee. However, he was part of the transition team for several months.

It is my opinion that Nunes did not visit or ask to visit the White House on his own. I think he was asked to come to the White House, thru Paul Ryan.

I do believe that Trump discussed his concern, over what might be uncovered, with Paul Ryan. He wanted to know if there was any evidence that the Intelligence Committees might be holding that he could be surprised with? Paul Ryan agreed to talk with Devin Nunes and let him know that his President wanted to talk with him. But, Donald Trump did not want anyone to know that it was his idea. He was desperate to know what the FBI might have on him?

This put Nunes in a very awkward and uncomfortable position. He had to think up a lie to tell the press and to tell his fellow members on the Committee. So he tells everyone that he was given "new evidence" by someone that said Trump and some of his associates were picked up "incidentally" while listening to foreign phone calls. None of his fellow members on the Committee knew of any "new" evidence. But he felt it was something that Mr Trump needed to know.

It was all a narrative created by Donald Trump to show that he was vindicated from any serious investigation. More than likely, he planted the reporter that asked "if he felt vindicated"? Also, he wanted Nunes to say that the his name probably came up in conversation that may have been recorded between two foreigners? Mr Nunes changed his story from one day to the next.

Bottom line, Nunes and Ryan were both used by Trump to milk and to mine information that might be in the possession of the intelligence committees? He is a control freak and he needs that information.

It shows that Trump is very worried about what they might have on him? He is fishing for information from whomever might be able to give it to him. Rep Nunes was in a position to maybe tell him more?

In my opinion, this entire deception has been orchestrated by Donald Trump. Both Ryan and Nunes have been useful idiots. Of course, he should not have gone to the White House and he would not have gone. if he had not been asked. Paul Ryan was the middle man that informed Nunes that Trump wanted to meet with him.

It makes it even more suspicious that Mr Nunes has changed his story in the last couple of days. At first, he said he got new evidence from an anonymous source which he would not name. Later, he says that he has no evidence?? He changes his story to cover for Donald Trump.

That is why he canceled the meeting he was supposed to have with Clapper, Brennan, and Sally Yates on Tuesday. Trump did not want another meeting like the one last Monday.

It should be obvious that there can be no credible investigation because the information is not secure and will find its way to the White House. Nunes has shown himself to be nothing more than a tool for Donald Trump. He should not be permitted to receive any more evidence from his position on the House Intelligence Committee. However, he did say that he has asked FBI Director Comey and NSA Chief Rogers to come back in for a secret session for more inquiry. Why would he do that? He wants to squeeze them for more information, so he can pass it on to Mr Trump?

There is something very fishy and deceptive going on. It is not as it appears and certainly not as they say.

Nunes looked like a troubled soul as he stepped before the cameras to lie for Mr Trump. He knew what he was doing was wrong. He should step down from his position or he should be removed, in my opinion.

...I believe Flynn can connect many of the dots, AND, I think Paul Ryan knows that also...

I BELIEVE that most of the GOP players surrounding tRump* are fully aware of the Russian collusion.

Ryan had to know that what Nunes was doing was highly un-orthodox, and yet he didn't stop him. We already know Ryan doesn't like 45 from a taped conversation, so he probably thought, what the hell, lets throw some more gasoline on this fire.

So, he receives intelligence, just like the intelligence committee would receive. He could tell Trump what he wanted to know but maybe he delegated it down to Nunes?

He could have told 45, but didn't. There were probably a dozen ways 45 could be informed off the sidelines as to not make it look conspicuous, could have called it a private meeting on the AHCA and spilled the beans. But Nunes knows Ryan wouldn't risk his ass to protect his guy. And given Nunes makes Ryan look smart in comparison, and given the possibility Nunes ass could be on the line as well...

Remember, when push comes to shove, Pubs are all about self preservation. So when Nunes called, Ryan probably said "Please proceed".

I think he just made it up as a cover for the lie he told to vindicate Trump.

Hours before the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee announced his shocking claims about surveillance of the Trump transition team on Wednesday morning, he practically disappeared.

Rep. Devin Nunes was traveling with a senior committee staffer in an Uber on Tuesday evening when he received a communication on his phone, three committee officials and a former national security official with ties to the committee told The Daily Beast. After the message, Nunes left the car abruptly, leaving his own staffer in the dark about his whereabouts.

By the next morning, Nunes hastily announced a press conference. His own aides, up to the most senior level, did not know what their boss planned to say next. Nunes’ choice to keep senior staff out of the loop was highly unusual.

“For House Republicans and the White House, this is about obstruction and distraction,” Rep. Mike Quigley told The Daily Beast. “And this week there were three: that Obama wiretapped Trump tower, number two, this middle of the night excursion, and number three, canceling the open hearings. I just tell my colleagues that we have to keep up the pressure so they don’t turn the lights out.”
