Trump, Like Limbaugh, Is Busy Alienating His Supporters, One Group at a Time.

Trump's tweet today called out the Freedom Caucus and the Heritage Foundation as responsible for the failure of the repeal and replace bill. He had previously angered the Freedom Caucus by sending his thuggish minion Steve Bannon to threaten them over their refusal to support the Ryancare bill.

He has a very good model in doing this. Rush Limbaugh, the former darling of the right, steadily alienated one group after another among his supporters, until he really had no supporters at all.

I encourage Trump to continue following Limbaugh's strategy, so he can leave the White House through impeachment and removal.

They've been hatemongers for decades. In the end, the hate cannot be contained. It reaches "friends" and foes alike, until the only person left is the hatemonger himself.

All this because the hatemonger actually hates himself.

The choir will always be in their seats, ready to lend their voices to the right.

and then repeats his talking points endlessly.

They have way too many moving parts right now. That's not their gameplan. Everyone feels empowered and wants their way.

Basically he's not nearly as powerful as he was and he's adrift in the wilderness. Rush doesn't know who or what to support. He never got on the Trump train fully. Now he is trying to attack the all-powerful left but it rings hollow and it sounds like it.

They are in complete power and have no idea how to get anything done. Everyone feels empowered - from actual leadership to the fringe Teabaggers to their thinktanks- they want it all now ALL of them, at once.
