I returned to work today after 3 and 1/2 months. I had 4 foster/illegal students removed from rolls

they were foster/illegal students. 12-14 years old

I had no idea why or what happened so I asked the team lead what happened and she said she couldn't discuss it but that they were "rehomed"

She said to talk to the principal .

This is middle Kansas -of course we have brownbackistan as a "gov"

it just felt really weird.

Students had no idea where they went (and you know they know everything)

team lead thinks she is all "cool" on giving information only on a need to know basis and I think that was her way of saying it was none of my business.

I will be asking questions for sure

I know sometimes they are "re-homed" as your co-worker said with no notice to anyone. Maybe something wasn't working out in the foster home or maybe they found a placement with a relative. It may be something innocent.

Sadly, this happens a good bit to these poor kids.
