Could the Senate Intel Committee request the testimony of Speaker Paul Ryan?

I think Paul Ryan should be given a chance to save himself from an all-encompassing cover-up by the Trump White House. He should be called to testify about what he might know about the Nunes/White House controversy.

Because, it has been reported that Nunes visited Paul Ryan before he visited the White House?
Do we know the chronology of the visits? Did Nunes visit Ryan the next day after he got the intelligence from the Executive Office Bldg? What did Ryan tell Nunes? What did Nunes tell Ryan?

It would be beneficial to the Speaker of the House to assist in this investigation before he ruins his career by covering up for a President that will stab him in the back at the first opportunity.
Perhaps Ryan should take the initiative and volunteer what he knows to the Intelligence Committees?

Good Question ! Is Ryan choosing Trump over the Republican Party, by not removing Nunes ? Is OnDoutside Mar 2017 #4
I'm thinking that would be greatly frowned upon in Congress -one branch ordering another. randome Mar 2017 #5

At very least, he could be called to testify about the true nature of his meeting with Nunes last Friday morning. And you are correct: Ryan would stab Trump in the back with glee.

That's how it would be portrayed, whether true or not.
