Trump Supporters Probably Happy Russia Helped Donald Win The Election.

Trump voters still seem to have no regret about Trump being president. Trump still has over 30% approval rating when it should be just about zero. We have an unsalvageable element in the US unfortunately.

Financially, I couldn't escape for a year.

Just about the worst year of my life. Yeah, constant Hannity and O'Lielly on the TV. Luckily, I had a TV in my room. But the walls were thin, couldn't block out that bullshit.

Their faith is unshakable, and reinforced in their echo chamber of deplorable spin and absolutely FAKE NEWS which is often promoted in 'tweets' from the Liar-in-Chief himself.

Faith exists in the absence of proof.

The rightwing conservative Republican think tanks have been targeting this element of America for decades now. Plug in any "Republican" and it works!

Those of us who "believe in something else" need to do it in greater numbers than 'the deplorables.'

9. The Great Depression was blamed successfully on the republicans...

The republicans regained control of congress after FDR died and Truman took over. Truman said throw out the "Do Nothing Republican Congress" and the voters did.

The republicans briefly gained control over congress during the Eisenhower administration, and they had control in the period just before the Great Recession (2005-2007).

The point here is that something bad always happens when the republicans take control of the government. If you overlay the recessions with the republican control of the government, it's almost uncanny how well they line up.

The problem is that our news and entertainment media are owned by big corporations and the republicans are friendlier to corporations than democrats. This allows republicans to come on the TV and talk about things that they believe will create jobs and cut the debt and all manner of actions that they're gonna take that has no supporting evidence that produces the outcome that they're predicting has ever occurred in the past.

If you use actual history as a guide. We will have a recession, and the republicans will blame it on the democrats because that has always worked in the past.

What we need is a television program that accurately shows how these proposals (like overturning environmental regulations) aren't going to do what they say they're gonna do.

...but until we can make such a program more interesting than 'The Voice' or 'Survivor' we are always going to have people supporting the very element that has caused their destruction.

We have always had this 'unsalvageable element' in our country and I expect we always will.

What's known as the 20-60-20 rule comes into play. Simply put that rule states that in a poll, 20% will approve of you no matter what, 20% will disapprove of you no matter what, and you make or break your popularity on the 60% in the middle. Even Nixon began his last full month in office (July '74) with an approval rating of 28%- and the poll taken on his resignation day still showed 22%. Not a lot of cushion between DT's 36 and Tricky Dick's 28.

For them there is no right and wrong, there's only loyalty and greed. They're getting theirs while they can. These are loyal supporters who probably have something financial to gain from criminals and criminal behavior.

Reminds me of how our father was furious when my brother "came out" and announced he had converted to Sufi Islam. I had attended a couple of ceremonies and didn't feel pressured or coerced to join. Dad was angry that I supported my brother in his choice and accused me of being ready to convert myself. I told him I didn't think that was going to happen. To make my point, I had "come out" right there and then and announced I was an atheist and there was no God. Dad didn't explode. A broad grin split his face and he loudly exclaimed "That's wonderful!" Forget that he had called me a "godless Communist" in 1986. Now it was cool to be an atheist because that was better than being Muslim.

My point: Don't try to find logic with people like this. You are wasting your time.

But some are turning on him already (not even 3 months) which is rather stunning given that it took two wars and crashing the economy before they abandoned W.
