Ad clicks work by paying say the DU for allowing their advertising to appear on their site. Every time you click on an ad that appears here, the DU gets money, and the advertiser has to pay. A win win for the DU and an flip of the finger to the advertiser that appears, as long as you don't purchase anything. And eventually the advertiser will quit appearing. Granted, others will appear in its place, just treat them the same way and eventually... it takes a bit, the advertiser will no longer appear due to clicks that do not create income for them. I click on an ad 3-4 times per visit, just imagine if everyone just here,on the DU did the same!! They would be running the their way

2. The money per click is trivial

sure it adds up in the thousands of clicks but individually your actions are wasting your time far more than theirs. Much better to just get an ad blocker and make them go away.

I detest advertising with a white hot passion it is ruining the web. I think in time if the businesses running these ads are smart they will demand higher payment for adds and reduce the frequency. If they don't they will kill the add model completely as more and more people just block them.
