(7,768 posts)He had a pained look on his face. He was flushed and sweating. He looked like someone who had just come on the scene of a horrific accident.
Regarding him being on the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, he said, "This is the most important work I have ever done in my career in the Public Sector."
I'll NEVER forget him saying that. I trust him.

So, if he's not running again, he may be more likely to be forthright.

(9,524 posts)Last month, Warner said he had "grave concerns" about the independence of their investigation after reports surfaced that the White House sought help from Burr and others to help knock down certain negative news.
"We've had some bumps," Warner said. "But I am working very closely with him right now," adding, "I trust him that we will get this done. And we have a list of witnesses that I think you will see that is comprehensive. And we're going to talk to everybody involved."

I want to trust Burr, but trusting Republicans is risky business.
